Here it is, the saddest picture on the Internet:
Here it is, the divvying up of a Beanie Baby collection in a court room, the proceedings of a divorce. As friends and family watch on. As a child watches on. Even their posture on the floor suggests children playing a game: deciding who gets to play with Bronty or Quackers or Chocolate the Moose. Even as an obsessive this kind of thing bums me out.
The question I have: did they both like the collecting? Did they both go to the flea markets on Saturday mornings together, was this a shared interest--a foundation to their marriage? If so, what has changed? If not, is this purely about the hypothetical money, or rather, is it about hurting the ones we used to love?
